"A Memory is a Picture Taken by the Heart." One of my favorite people in all the world, my precious Grammy, penned these words in the back pages of her bible. I cherish her wisdom, words of encouragement and the personal quotes like these. I've remembered this quote for years, and since starting my own photography business, have found a way to incorporate her words into my daily life. Thank you, Grammy!
An amazing experience of mine was living on the island of Maui, where my oldest daughter was born. While we were there, I immersed myself in photographing the island and all it's beauty. What an breathtaking place!! Being in that element, I learned so much about lighting, background and incorporating those together to create an awesome photo. I prefer to use natural light and the native elements for our setting, rather than shooting in a studio.
I've taken enlightening workshops in photography (In Focus Learning Center and Pursuit 31), stretching the creative envelope to find new and exciting ways to create a classic photo that will be enjoyed for years to come.
The name "Grace & Joy" is another tribute to my family. It was named after my two daughters, who are the Grace & Joy of my life! I also seek to honor my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, by showing His Grace, Joy and Love to my clients and their families. Any talent or success I have is a result of His hand tenderly blessing my life. I give it all back to You.
My two precious children have been my muse, turning what was a fun hobby into a rewarding career. I hope to capture all the Grace & Joy of your family as well!
Less formal things to know about me? Some of my absolute faves in life are:
* Snuggling up with my girls in a pair of warm, fuzzy socks and a soft blanket
* The beach: love that surf and sand
* Miranda Lambert & Carrie Underwood
* Starbuck's Drive Thru
* San Diego Chargers - win or lose!
* Cineopolis Luxury Cinemas - Oh the pampering and Joy of it all!
* McDonald's French Fries
* Music that touches my heart or makes me sing at the top of my lungs
* Watching my kids play soccer and softball, and cheering annoyingly from the sidelines!
